What is a High Performing Person?

High performers are "less into 'finding their strengths' and more into 'adaptive service'--exploring what needs fixing and growing in the person who can fix it. The question they ask is less often 'Who am I and what am I good at' and more often 'What is required to be of service here, and how can I grow into that or lead others to deliver that?"

Hi, Amy here, your Certified High Performance Coach.

You're here because you are dedicated to making an impact and creating a massive global influence. Yes?

You also know that to reach new goals and live in the highest service excellence, you need to sustain your energy.

You've got to be strong to climb a mountain and also to move people to create positive change.

On a more intimate note, we've all learned that life can change on a dime. Still, how prepared are we to sustain our confidence and courage in response to sudden change?

My life changed drastically when I stepped into the role of 24/7 caregiver to my boyfriend of 3 years, who was permanently paralyzed from the neck down. That journey lasted close to two decades.

I'm what people call a 'tough cookie.' And I am a strong person with a remarkable ability to keep going--in a most exhausted state! The problem is, that's not exactly a sustainable life plan!

You can be the most dedicated person with a strong purpose. It doesn't mean you're making the healthiest decisions! And you could be working against yourself for years without knowing it, until life hands you another blow that you could have helped prevent!

I wish I had a High Performance coach and curriculum all those years ago. I get there's value in struggling. Still, the High Performance habits and lifestyle would have prevented unnecessary struggles I was creating for myself.

In High Performance, we honor struggles--and then work to adapt in healthy ways in the face of them.

The endeavor to live in high service has nothing to do with your personality, 'innate strengths,' or talent. You've got to do the work to make great things happen--it just doesn't have to be a journey of overextension and ongoing exhaustion.

The most talented, creative people aren't necessarily high performers. Many of them are continuously burned out, discouraged, and unfulfilled.

High performers are among the least stressed, happiest people!

These aren't just my opinions. The emperical study on high performance proves anyone can become a high performer!

From the book High Performance Habits, "High performers have simply mastered--either on purpose or by accident through necessity--six habits that matter most  in reaching and sustaining long-term success." These are called the HP6:

Clarity, energy, necessity, productivity, influence, and courage.

It was because of an accident I stepped into my caregiving role. And it was there it was necessary to master my productivity and influence.

A new level of productivity that made it possible to have a life beyond they physical care routine. And influence in the way of advocating for healthcare benefits.

Still, I eventually ran out of steam, not properly adapting and changing the things that needed changing within myself!

Although anyone can become a high performer doesn't mean most people want to!

Most people want to live in comfort with the way things are going. The problem with living in the comfort zone for too long is you may not be able to adapt when things go off the rails unexpectedly.

We've gotten ourselves into the comfortable habit of being exhausted, bored, or over-anxious. So, how can we expect to respond at higher levels of confidence, courage, and energy when the unexpected strikes?

Much of why we believe we don't have time to do all we want to do is because of the habits we aren't aware of that are eating away our time.

A quick google search teaches us that the  “average American watches 28 hours/week or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year. In a 65-year life, that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube."

High performers regularly challenge themselves in ways that are fulfilling and applicable to life's ever-changing seasons. They intentionally honor their time to the best of their ability. To be sure they're living life to the fullest to accomplish their vision of raising a family or dream, running a business, and serving their communities

Most of all, they do not do any of this alone. They work in collaboration with others. They invest regularly in their health, wealth, and happiness.

This twelve-session journey you've been offered is not suitable for everyone. If you're here it's because I think you're a great fit for this program. Still, there's no pressure to participate, only possibilities.

As a person doing the work to live in high performing capacity each day, it's my honor and pleasure to serve others who want to keep rising and showing up as their best selves!

High performance is not about perfection. It's about fulfilling perseverance over the long term.

There's nothing wrong with strengths and personality tests--those have a place to guide people.

I, myself, love to have fun with those methods as well as my horoscope! And they can be powerful tools to move us forward.

Still, we might get stuck labeling ourselves if you're like me. And that can sometimes limit our potential. We can convince ourselves, "Well, this is just how I am." And that can prevent us from trying new things.

There's a way of life to explore called High performance. To step in and intentionally grow skills you may not have thought you were capable of growing!

If I'm right about you being a match for this program, who might benefit from you becoming a more high performing person?

I'm here for you, and would love to work with you in this next level of your progress forward.
